Based on the ocular inspection done by the staff of Wish Ko Lang last Sunday, the studio is small for them to take different angles of the scene. I was only informed in the evening that the shoot will be made to Visayas Ave. branch in Quezon City instead.
We’re a bit disappointed. But that’s okay. We’re very happy to have Thomas as scholar and we’re looking forward to see him soon in our studios. Anyway, you can still catch how the awarding went yesterday by tuning in to “Wish Ko lang” on GMA 7, 4:30pm on Saturday.
I received a call yesterday from a staff of GMA 7 who, incidentally, a classmate of mine way back in college. He now works as a program researcher for “Wish Ko Lang”, a TV show that grants wishes to deserving people. They are requesting for us to sponsor the voice training of a teenage-boy.
Here’s an excerpt of their e-mail:
Warm Greetings from GMA Network!
Wish Ko Lang (WKL) is an award-winning Public Affairs program of GMA Network which airs every Saturday 4:30 PM. Hosted by Ms. Vicky Morales, the show aims to inspire its audience by featuring stories of hope and dreams of less fortunate families and communities. We give them a chance to fulfill their dreams and start a new life.
We are currently producing an inspiring story of a kid named Thomas, 13 years old who has so much ahead in his future. Thomas had a kidney transplant at the age of nine, reason for him to stop school. When he returned, he immediately got back from where he left receiving numerous awards and recognition with his talents. Aside from being a topnothcher in academics, he also is blessed with a number of gifts. He is a poet, a writer, a visual artist, and a singer. He never had formal training with these gifts. His works show that he has so much in him and yet a lot to improve on. He draws inspiration from his past experiences, more on that which he was still ill and had to have his kidney replaced. He has a very good voice in singing and we believe that he can be one good singer if he will be properly trained.
In line with this, we would like to ask for your generosity in sponsoring the voice lessons of Thomas.
They plan to stop by at the branch on September 22, Monday, for a shoot.
